After finishing my degree in Applied Arts,
I moved to Cornwall and spent many a day beach combing with my dog Mooch, finding bits of beach glass and pottery.

from sea glass (Mor gweder in Cornish)
and beach pottery found on Cornish beaches.
Often referred to as Sea glass, marine gems, sea sapphires, mermaids tears or lucky tears.
These interesting bits of 'rubbish' probably started life as beer and pop bottles.

The most common being jade, or kelly green and brown.
White probably being bits of windows, windshields and glasses.
Teal, maybe Bombay sapphire bottles?
And the most rare being red, cobalt blue and lilac, which is actually white sea glass that has reacted with sunlight turning it a lush colour of light purple. Very hard to spot!!

Sea pottery, however, could be anything from cups and blue and white utility and willow pattern
china plates flung overboard.
Some pieces could be hundreds of years old! Who knows?

My sea inspired handmade jewellery designs, of which
no two are ever the same,
consist of genuine beach glass and sea pottery which is naturaly tumbled by the ocean.

When constructing bits of "rubbish" into handmade jewellery,
I prefer to use sustainable materials, such as, recycled electrical wire, re-used suede (usually old clothes from car boots or charity shops) and reclaimed shells.

Therefore satisfying my interest in the natural world and
the desire to look after it.

This gorgeous piece of "Blue and white" sea pottery
was found on a cornish beach on a sunny day.
This beautiful gem has now been made into a unique handmade hemp necklace which can be found on the
